In May, Michael Bibi announced his upcoming One Life London show, which promises to be the biggest electronic music event in the city to date. He has now shared that personnel from the stem cell charity Anthony Nolan will be present at the sold-out event tonight, July 6, encouraging some of its 45,000 attendees to sign up for the UK stem cell register.
The register is a database of potential stem cell donors who can be matched to patients suffering from various ailments. The list of illnesses treatable with stem cells continues to grow with the passage of time. In Bibi’s case, it helped him overcome a rare form of brain and spinal cancer called CNS lymphoma and resume gigging earlier this year.
Anthony Nolan representatives will engage attendees at One Life London and talk to them about signing up for the stem cell register. They will reportedly prioritize young men between 16-30 as their stem cells treat illnesses more effectively.
“Advancements in medical treatments like stem cell transplants gave me a second chance at life and are crucial in battling these conditions,” Michael Bibi said. “Together, our community can make a difference. That’s why Anthony Nolan staff and volunteers will be at my homecoming show, ready to sign people up to the stem cell register.”
